You didn't reject Christianity as such, mostly just the Mormon distortion. Christianity doesn't require an alleged prophet, secret temple rituals, additional scripture, and legalistic diet proscriptions. A Christian trusts completely in Christ for his salvation.
Christianity does require prophets--who else are these men who wrote the bible we're supposed to put our faith in as being inspired? As well the bible does mention rituals and even diet proscriptions--whether current beliefs accept those scriptures are required or not is just more of the confusion resulting from the evolution of the myths.
