For future reference, please read and follow the items presented below.
There are over 3,000 messages in the archive as of March 1999. I'd like to keep the archive online for future reference and possible discussions (i.e. it is easier to refer to old discussions rather than repeat them). However, if the messages take up too much space the exmormon webmaster is likely to ask me to nuke it.
That having been said, the following guidelines need to be followed. Posts that don't follow these guidelines are likely to be deleted or not archived in order to save server space.
1) When replying without text [(n/t) posts] outside of the subject line, please delete the body of the previous message. This will cut your reply down from somewhere between 1k and 100k to under 1k.
2) When replying, snip all portions of the previous message that you are not specifically replying to. People can easily go back and read the full text of the previous post in context if they wish. This will cut message size to nearly one half.
3) Posts that deal with items other than "Books, Ethics, Science, and Philosophy" should not be made to the board unless they are *specific* statements made about pages on the site somewhere. Therefore, theological debates, Biblical contradictions, apologetics, religious preaching, etc. should be dealt with elsewhere (like the infidels.org message boards or personal email).
Hopefully, these guidelines will keep the board (and its archives) in operation for a much longer time period.
Thank You!
