You will find people on both sides of the fence that say it is and it isn't.
You must ask yourself. Was it the attack on carbon dating you were offended by or the fact that the person who felt that carbon dating was flawed had a strong belief in God.
In general, I have found that people are so offended by those who believe that God created the earth that they are unwilling to see any flaw in theoretical research.
As I see it, Carbon Dating has been sold down the road so long as Fact that nobody remembers that it is only a theory verified by another theory.
The way Christians have it figured, we only have a few more years as things are developing in the Middle East and fulfilling prophecy to see the second coming of Christ anyhow. The problem is that if you don't know Christ as your savior then you will be trying to figure out carbon dating from the pits of hell itself.
The facts are that the Bible has been a very infalable document for the past and has thus far predicted the future accurately. If you are looking for reasearch material, I would suggest the Bible and start with Matthew.
