Chris made the above statement. I agree with it if it is changed slightly to "The God hypothesis, without evidence, is a cop-out." I think this is what Chris was getting at. Claiming that there are other possibilities is only a valid option if there is some evidence for these possibilities. As Isaac Asimov stated "To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today."
