Question for rpcman

I am interested in your opinion of "The God Makers." I read it a while back and, of course, the Mormon that I worked with at the time and mentioned it to said that it was all a bunch of lies fabricated by disgruntled former LDS members. Is there any truth to this statement, or to the book, for that matter?
