Appropriate Journals?

I would have thought that a thesis on history of science would have been submitted to a more appropriate journal than that. There are several that would be appropriate.

And yes, the quality and the standards of the journal will go a long way toward establishing the credibility of the research. Because the editors vary so much in their standards, articles in Nature, Lancet, or The New England Journal of Medicine have considerably more impact. Those published in journals unrelated to the subject are less impressive.
