: : I realize this. I was saying that *others* have stated their conclusions on Brodie's view of Joseph Smith based on reading reviews of a book she wrote that had nothing to do with Joseph Smith.

: : :As far as a bio of Joseph Smith, I haven't the foggiest. I have never read anything on the man.

: : If you haven't read anything about Joseph Smith, why did you make your post to begin with? What is your point?

: I simply caution those who pursue Honest Intellectural Inquiry to be careful about the sources they trust. My problem with the way Brodie treats the subject of Thomas Jefferson is her concentration on titilating inuendo and supposition about Mr. Jefferson's personal life rather than what the established facts indicate about the mans habits and character.
: She also seems to couch her stories in the socio-intellectual mores of the last half of this decade rather than the Jeffersonian period. If she does this with Jefferson, I imagine she does this with Smith.

You have COUCHED your post with assumptions. That is neither honest nor intellectual. Good try, though. Are you trying to convince everyone to be assimilated?
