My question is a little bit deeper than that, though

: Can I explain and refer you to a book? ;)

: You see, Daniel C. Dennett has asked the same question (and several others along the same lines) in the book linked below.

: In a nutshell, the answer is that both would be you at the moment of creation but would then diverge into two 'non-yous' from that point on (just as you change from your prior you to a new you on a continuous basis).

: A similar situation is had (although obviously without the *exact* same atoms) with identical twins.

So, I would cease to be aware? That makes no sense to me.
Either I am aware or I am not. Either I am seeing from the reference
of two eyes, or I am seeing out of four, or not at all, or whatever.
If I constantly change into a new me, why would
I want to prolongue my life? It would just be
someone else experiencing the latter years of my life!
I am not asking which one would behave like me,
I am asking which one would contain my awareness and consciousness,
not my intelligence and knowledge.
