The way I read the essay was to interpret it as saying that the reason black people could not receive the priesthood is still unknown, it is not because of the curse of Cain or because they were less valiant in the pre-existence. However, my question is, do they actually say they don't believe there was a curse of Cain or that they don't believe black people were less valiant? To me it sounded like they just said they weren't the reasons for the ban, they don't actually deny these teachings. Am I reading it right? Are they trying to come off as not racist while maintaining racist teachings?
