Religion is no excuse for torturing and brainwashing young children nor for abusing women and young boys.

Thankfully, Jeffs is behind bars but there still freaks like him doing this kind evil.

There are hundreds of thousands of polygamists skulking around Zion. We know about Jeffs mainly because Texas doesn't protect "prophets" who abuse and Utah does.

Where are these mormon polygamists?

Everywhere in your neighborhoods and local wards. Don't think they all wear ugly pastel dresses and funny hairdos. Some do, but most do not. When will Utah, Arizona, Idaho, and Wyoming wake up and put child safety ahead of good ole boy politics?

Two things:

1.) I hate Texas and am seldom complimentary about the state.

2.) It takes Texas to do something constructive with the FLDS. Utah and even Arizona cannot. Most of the LDS church authorities and Utah state lawmakers are related by blood, marriage, and business to the FLDS. If you'll recall, Orrin Hatch even visited one of their churches and played the organ there. Utahns do not have the will to fight polygamy and the FLDS, no matter how much it involves sexual predation of children and other abuses. In fact, when it comes to Mormonism, FLDS are the original Brighamites and actually better Mormons.

These Utah biggies are less likely to deal with other more invisible groups that they're also related to.
