I came across this interesting article about 7,000 year old Dark-Skinned Europeans becoming Light-Skinned.

Just a couple of observations from this article:

Changes between dark and light skin occurred due to:

Proximity to the Equator.
Direct exposure to the sun.
Changes in diet.

Interesting findings given what the LDS church has to say historically about dark skin vs. white and delightsome, no?

Mormonism is a for-profit, made up fantasy religion which encapsulates classic American racial concepts from the nineteenth century. Its creators never envisioned a different future reality. Christianity, on the other hand, developed during the Pax Romana under the Roman Empire -- a time very similar to our modern world.

There are very few racial references in classical literature. The only well known few black (Ethiopian) figures in classical mythology are Memnon (king) and Cepheus (king), Cassiopeia (queen), and their daughter Andromeda (princess). The "white is superior" concept doesn't seem to have existed amongst Europeans before the seventeenth century.

Having a living prophet and continuing revelation aren't enough to re-write the "Book of Mormon." They're stuck with it.

Somehow, if the GAs could just make the BOM go away, all would be rosy...

As you say, they're stuck with this sucky fairytale.
