who was publisher? Was it Bookcraft or D.Press?

(Is Bookcraft still around?)

It was originally published by Bookcraft. After the merger, Deseret Book now owns it. Your best bet may be to buy the e-book. There isn't a PDF unless someone has scanned the entire thing, but doing that to put it on the internet is a copy write infringement.

Thanks. The last time I looked (last autumn) I could not find a .pdf copy in English.

No prob. The one I'm looking for is a pre-1978 second edition. That's the one I grew up with. I have these vague, Orwellian memories of differences from the present text. I suppose I could just go buy one off Ebay, but then I'd have to have it around the house and it wouldn't be searchable.

Here's a nutball website. Some guy rails and rails about the the "NWO" and points to the changes between the 1958 and 1966 version of the McConkie book as some sort of proof that even the church isn't immune to the evil influence of the UN.

He has a side by side comparison of some of the changes.

Be Forewarned - It is really offensive, he has latched onto the most repugnant of church teachings regarding the Catholic church.

No, I'm sure the copyright is still in effect. Archive.org probably shouldn't have it on their site.

I will. I think it would be useful.

Funny, I heard the background behind Mormon Doctrine recently. David O McKay didn't want the book to see the light of day. It took a lot of time for the upper echelon to allow this to be published. It was an extremely controversial book in its time.

There are definite differences between the original 1958 publishing and the 1970's publishing

There are three versions in all. There's the 1958 first edition, the 1966 second edition, and there were changes made after 1978 that should have been called a third edition, in my opinion.

Ahhh, 1978. They would have to remove all that stuff about blacks not being worthy.
