Jack Anderson and the Mormons

Jack Anderson, intrepid reporter, was raised Mo and went on a mission in the southern states. Whatever happened to his religious beliefs? Anyone know? Hard to believe he could go after the powerful and still be welcome in the church.

As I remember the story he was an active Mormon.

He was a member of the Silver Springs, Maryland ward and had a large family of eight kids. I'm trying to remember where I read more about him--maybe in a Dialogue article. There was a time when you could be an active Mormon and an active seeker after the truth.

I see there's a new book about Anderson and Nixon. From the reviews I read it sounds like Anderson was TBM. I believe the book's called Raisin' Cain.
