Ever have a friend realize the truth and ask you why you didn't tell them?

I often wonder if any family or friends that realized the truth would be angry at me for not spilling it to them even when I've dropped hints or just said stuff right out that contradicts their belief and they reacted negatively to it.

Anyone actually experienced that?

No, not yet. But I can tell you that a lot of my motivation to leave is because I don't want my kids to find out the truth and then come to me and ask why I'd lied to them.
