At least that's how my almost 19 year old daughter and a surprising number of her friends feel about the cult, even if they're not overtly broadcasting it at large.
Those were the exact words of a longtime acquaintance who was talking to my daughter not too long ago. And while she (daughter) still goes to church most of the time, she drinks her frappucinos, doesn't have VTs or VT herself, and if/when she's confronted with the issues of temple "worthiness", garments, and all the other BS still ahead........I don't see her sticking around. She's already said she might very well end up marrying somebody of another faith (or none at all) down the road, so almost 18 years of non-stop temple marriage indoctrination just fell by the wayside.
I know there are plenty of koolaid drinking sheeple; there probably always will be, but for many, the old men in Salt Lake have already lost the narrative, and many more may join their ranks before the cult makes any concessions to retain YA membership........if they ever do.
