She's ok, but it was a really hard hit.

Some guy was stopped in the middle of the road (he claimed that he was stopped because a drunk woman was wandering around), but by the time MRJ saw his car and registered that he wasn't moving it was too late and she rear ended him.

No drunk lady was to be found by either MRJ or the police.

However, she rear ended him going between 30 - 40 mph, so it was a pretty hard hit.

No one was hospitalized, but muscles and bones are achy and sleep was not very forthcoming.

And now insurance, doctors, car rentals, and possibly car shopping will all happen right before we are to celebrate the alliance signed by Regular Jesus and Santa to give rich children better presents than poor children on the 25th of December.

Never a good time for this to happen, but especially bad around the holidays. Sorry man, best of luck. Thoughts are with you.

3 years ago we were hit two days before Christmas. No fun at all!

Good luck with everything...

That must have been really frightening for you both. I'm glad that your wife is okay.

I was in a low speed (25-30 mph) crash years ago. It crunched the whole front end of my car. My engineer brother said that the car did what it was designed to do -- protect me. I think it still put some grey hairs on his head, though. The insurance company totaled my car, so car shopping was on my agenda.

I hope everything goes well for you both from now on out. Once you hand it all over to the insurance company, it's really not a bad process.

Glad she's okay, RJ... sorry about her pain though. Does she have any painkillers?

Get her into a hot bath with Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate -- great for muscle pain) and any muscle relaxants you have on hand (if not meds, then alcohol). My best wishes to the both of you!

I'm sorry, Raptor, but I'm glad there were no serious injuries or deaths.

Maybe some new car shopping (or new to you) will help ease MRT's aches and pains.

And I hope sleep comes more easily and soon.

Be well, both of you!

Susan

Accidents are always scary and nerve jarring. I am so happy she is ok. I know she will be sore for awhile. Take good care of her!

I am sorry to hear this and I'm so glad she has not been injured. It was amazing to me (years ago in a similar situation) how powerful the forces of motion are and how much one aches all over after.

Sorry to hear it, but glad she'll be o.k. in the long run. Epsom salt baths, ibuprofen, heating pads, and lots of spoiling on your part - that'll do the trick. :)

Maybe Regular Jesus was punishing you guys for being cooler than him. That's brutal though, glad everyone's okay- I hope everything gets figured out soon!

I'm so glad she's OK but she'll need lots of RJ TLC; she'll be hurtin' for certain.

Those rear-enders are awful. I was in one at Christmastime 22 years ago and I still remember how much I ached for a week or more.
