Well, I can only speculate that Abe wasn't farmilar with Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and mormonism.

TSCC has managed to make prophesying an extremely profitable business, even when it can be shown that over 95 plus percent of their prophecies never occured.

I guess it only takes a small core of either willfully ignorant, brainwashed or unbelievably gullible members to make a cult successful.
