I spent the last several days in So. Ca with my 4 adult children as we said our goodbyes. He was diagnosed with cancer less than 3 weeks ago and had some other serious issues.

I had shared with all my TBM children that he had resigned several years ago and absolutely did not want a funeral in a mormon church or have any temple clothes on him. they were surprised and even shocked to find this out.

He could not talk due to a breathing tube down his throat. He wrote notes. One of his main wishes was to let everyone know he was gay. We are bringing him to UT for the funeral and then buriel in his hometown in Idaho.

This is all just so heartbreaking and sad for everyone.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I had no idea he was even sick. He as you know is a member of Gamofites, and I enjoyed having him stay at my home for a few of our retreats.

My condolences. This is a very difficult time for you and your family. Glad you were all able to be there.

We had a last visit with my husband with his children and some of the grand children Christmas of 2012. He died Jan 2013. Then most of them participated in his funeral service in some way.
I think that helped a lot.

I hope your family can be comforted at this time of great sadness.

Honestly your ex caused me great stress during a challenging few months of the last year of my childhood. But even during that time I was always grateful for the lessons and knowledge I gained because of him, even and especially at the times of greatest stress. Usually such moments of the most stress came when he wasn't even around and while I was sitting in the BYU Testing Center in the Grant building praying for help to get through your ex's exam questions. IMO he was a good college professor and I'm saddened to learn of his passing.

You had him for a chemistry class? Wow. He'd be so glad one of his students got out of the church. His obit will be in the Provo paper tomorrow.

She was diagnosed with pancreas cancer only about two months ago.
She was a lot like my mom to me. So again, I'm very sorry for your loss.
