Authoritarians in trouble: Syria's Assad and Mormon Uchtdorf admit mistakes

How ironic: at roughly the same time, two authoritarian leaders under siege declare that mistakes were made in an effort to contain the damage of the conflict they are embroiled in.

Even more ironic: at least Assad admits that he himself and his clique made mistakes. All Uchtdorf can do is blame doubters and past leaders.

Being a religious authoritarian in this information age is hard.
