BTW, the guy has a cool blog, he does a lot of exploring, lives in Price, Utah, but in this one post he mentions how much he hates Utah and man, did it bring out the haters.

Kind of crystallized some things for me.

I just read his 2014 update:

"Utah is a great place to live if you can manage to not get too worked up over the few asinine things that the state’s lawmakers try to force on the minority non-LDS population."

I couldn't agree more.

Living in Price would be tough though.

Price is a great location if you like to explore, plus it's not majorly Mormon. Otherwise...yeah, kind of tough if you like more urban things.

Hmm...I didn't know that. Interesting. I've been down there a few times and just assumed that it was similar to other central-Utah Mormon heavy towns. Interesting to know!

Actually, Price is a less Mormon-heavy town. It started as a mining community, so lots of Catholics and others. It wasn't started as a Brigham Young-ordered settlement.

I went to the college down there. I liked the town. It isn't dominated by mormons. The dorm I lived in had too many mormons from around Utah though.

Price has some really interestng history - like tunnels and secret doors between buildings for transporting alcohol during Prohibition. Lots of Greeks and Italians there and their culture - they have Greek restaurants and a Greek Orthodox Church.

It's about as close to not being in Utah as you can get and be in Utah. Feels more like W. Colorado in some ways.
