Reporting on a fine morning so far: One of my co-workers had a great time today explaining to all of us the BYU-I video on leaving your buddy in the field, Mark E. Peterson's pamphlet on masturbation, and the whole LDS obsession with it. He had found it on all the Daily Kos. We had a fun time, laughing raucously around our desks a this Mormon folly. All the surrounding guys know my ex-Mormon status, and looked to me for comments and answers to their questions. It was my ex-Mormon moment.

And yes, your taxes paid for this moment. Just live with it, okay?

Eh, sounds like a better use of my tax money than most. Carry on.

I have absolutely no problem with my govt dollars going to education! So laugh on!

If you're a govt employee, my heart goes out to you. If you're a "contractor" I may have to resort to outrage. :)

I got such a kick out of how hard the audience and guests laughed when Bill Maher did his thing about it. The juxtaposition of shutting the door and leaving your roommate in front of girlsgonewild.com and leaving a soldier on the battlefield is pure comedy to normal people. Then for them to cut over to whichever geezer it was who was making it all so grave and serious didn't need any "If you are not laughing, you might be in a cult," warning signs.

You see, when I was TBM I freaking hated Bill Maher. Now I've begun loving him for the last five years. How things change. I hope he gets the message out loudly and clearly.
