John Taylor left this testimony that the Prophet Joseph Smith guided Brigham Young across the plains as a resurrected being. His remains were not brought here in a wagon and buried under the tabernacle. Pres. Young's statement in 1854 (sic), stating that Joseph Smith was not yet resurrected, was apparently given to mislead the people. (12)

12. Cited in the minutes of a Fundamentalist meeting of June 29, 1952, p. 2. Copy in possession of the author. The above remarks of Brigham Young came as a result of a comment of Heber C. Kimball that President Young feared might be misinterpreted by the Saints, so he spoke to dispel any speculation or false doctrine. President Young logically would have left the subject untouched rather than purposely deceive.

Apart from the testimony of Lorin Woolley, two other men who had John Taylor stay at their home left their witness that the Prophet Joseph had been visiting President John Taylor during the time he was in hiding. The first was whilst he was at the William Hill home, during part of 1885, when “he was visited at least once by Joseph Smith” according to two Hill and Barbara O. Kelsch. (8)»

--------------------------

And why is this so important?

"No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith...every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are"

- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 7, p. 289
---------------------
"He that confesseth not that Jesus has come in the flesh and sent Joseph Smith with the fullness of the Gospel to this generation, is not of God, but is anti-christ"

- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 9, p. 312
-----------------------------

"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"

- Apostle George Q. Cannon, Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, 1988, p. 142
------------------------

"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel, holding the keys of the kingdom of God.. But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If brother Joseph is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Joseph shall say to a man, or if brother Brigham say to a man, I forgive you your sins, ‘Whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them;’ if you who have suffered and felt the weight of transgression—if you have generosity enough to forgive the sinner, I will forgive him: you cannot have more generosity than I have. I have given you power to forgive sins, and when the Lord gives a gift, he does not take it back again."

- Apostle Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, v. 6, p. 154

-------------------
“[There is] no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God"

- Prophet Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, v. 1, p. 190

I didn't read this but just want to say the title alone of this thread produced audible laughter. Some of the humor I have seen here is rivaled only by porno movie titles.

Well, remember, we're talking about Mormon Heaven here---everybody else just use the regular gate.

about Mormon heaven is like hearing a bunch of bootleggers and speak-easy operators talking about their private little booze clubs during the Prohibition Era.

"No man or woman in this town will ever enter into Lansky's Luxury Palace Club without the consent of Mugsy Bigfinger...every man and woman must have the certificate of Mugsy Bigfinger, as a passport to their entrance into the club where Lansky, Bronfman and Capone are."

"If we want to get our seat at the table of bosses, we shall have to pass by him [Guido the "Crippler"]; if we enter to get that glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Guido the "Crippler"]"

"I tell you, Tony Trigger holds the keys, and none of us can get into the best booze club in Chicago without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel and scariest bouncer ever, holding the keys of the club's huge 6-inch thick steel doors... But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, beer and drugs, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If Tony Trigger is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Tony Trigger shall say to a man, or if Bigfist Briggy say to a man, I forgive you your low sales figures this month... and when the Boss gives a gift, he does not take it back again."

It's funny that they didn't even see that the heaven they were describing was not even an attractive destination for most sane people and the God they described sounded more like a vindictive, demanding and cruel crime boss than anything else.

I wish he'd appear to me today, just so I could slap him across the face and kick him in the shin.

i wish it was all true.

that way when i die and get to ask for his permission face to face to get into heaven, i'd spit on him, turn around, and slowly walk away with my middle finger extended over my shoulder.

I'd love to give him a good kick in the cojones. And then a good right hook.

And then yell, "I'll bet your prophetic ass didn't see that one coming, bitch!!!"

Joe Smith has nothing whatever to do with Easter, and it is a crying shame that Mormons somehow like to put Joe first in remembrance on Easter. I remember a non-member friend asking me about this--and what could I say, but that such persons are ignorant jerks.

IMO, comparing J.S. to Jesus is an outrage of which Mormons should be down-right embarrassed and ashamed.

If anything, they should seek out the real, historical day this is supposed to have happened.

Joe, Joe, he's our man,
If he don't pass you,
No one can!

Joe, Joe, he's our man,
If he eyes you,
Look out man!

Joe, Joe, he's our man,
If he bones you,
Enter ma'am!

Joe, Joe, he's our man,
Celestial Kingdom,
Keeper Man!

More proof (if any were necessary) that Mormon leaders are pathological liars and that Mormon testimonies aren't worth a puddle of runny s***.

If JS was resurrected by the 1880s, then how could his skeleton be exhumed in 1928, which the church accepted as authentic?

That's how the resurrection works. There are tiny resurrection code nodules embedded in the bones and when the resurrection zapotronic initiation charge is fired into the bones, the codes send out an electromagnetic signal that acts as a beacon for all necessary molecules to fly to the grave site and assemble into the fully resurrected being. Once that is done, there is no further need for the old bones, which were essentially just a carrying case for the tiny resurrection code nodules. The resurrection bones are much better anyway. They have a more resilient titanium-carbon weave structure with nano-reinforcement interlinks and patented "bounce back" memory technology for a more enjoyable immortality. The old bones in the grave at that point are no more significant than discarded fingernail clippings.

Fundamentalists mormons claim Joseph was ressurected.

Mainstream mormons in particular John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff claim Joseph visited them in dreams. Hence he was not ressurected.
