Hi all,

Word to everyone that I am moving to Tacoma Washington at the end of the year. It has become so expensive to live in the California Bay Area that we, as a family, had to start monetizing the expense of the eternal sunshine.

I am thrilled that most of my family is coming or thinking of moving too.

Just think, I can meet Susan I/S in person some day, have lunch with fidget, do another Thelma-and-Louise with madalice, and meet the wonderful Washington exmos and put some faces to names. It's true that nobody but a fellow exmo knows that saying "I used to be Mormon" is not the same thing as saying "I used to be Methodist."

Kathleen Waters

PS. to those who are wondering about leaving the boobs, I recently had a prophylactic double mastectomy and haven't had a reconstruction yet.

I've left things in San Francisco.

Great post!

Northwest inhabitants tell a long running (true) tale to Californians, that it rains all the time... so they wouldn't all end up there.lol

Glad y'all are heading up that way: Puget Sound wonderful. I never knew RFM when living there - 90s-100s - (and didn't even think of mormonism or ex-mormonism) and only knew and thought of beauty, freedom and happiness [things don't change much (they don't need to)]. I miss the Emerald city and the Evergreen state. Y'all will (still) be in heaven anagrammy.

Have fun in paradise - and with all the wonderful RFMers there. OK, I'm practically jealous: I want to meet you KW, and you too Susan I/S, fidget, madalice... and many others.

It doesn't matter if it rains.

I am very excited to meet all of you.

So far the absence of breasts has been such a benefit. I used to have rather severe lower back pain--gone baby, gone. It's amazing how much younger you feel when you are not holding your side going, "Oh, my aching back!" Like the standard old guy with the wiggly cane in the cartoons.

Thanks for the good wishes!

Kathy

I live in the central valley, and I haven't attended any bay area exmo get-togethers in the last few years. But I have been up and down the east bay a bunch of times via BART. Let me/us know if there will be a get-together before you leave....

Best wishes on your new adventure.

Not that it is any of my business, and I am a guy so I really know absolutely nothing about it, but I have been around a few mastectomy patients, and I think if I was in their position I don't know if I would go for the reconstruction, it seems like a fair amount of added pain and risk. Happy trails in Tacoma, beautiful area.

I may be right behind you for the same reasons.... its just

getting rediculously expensive to live in California.

Now you can forever say that you had have a link to that place. I hope your recovery has been going well.

Tacoma sits in the shadow of the next possible big volcano eruption. Not trying to scare you. Just remember to give me credit when it happens and don't say you heard it from someone else.

The only thing I left in San Fran was my placenta but I didn't need it anyhow.

Good luck on your move and with your reconstructive surgery.
