Believe me, we'd love to visit Alaska if we could swing it. But that's not in the cards for us right now.
My family went to Ketchikan when I was 12, in 1967. We drove from Seattle up to Prince Rupert, and got seats on a seaplane to Ketchikan. We walked around the town all day, and then we sailed back to Prince Rupert on a cruise ship that night. It was quite an adventure.
I'll be up there on Lake Iliamna (spelling may be off here....) and the kvichack (quee jack) this summer :) guessing that's nowhere near anyone else tho ;) Alaska is a big place.
Someone who used to post on here, name Daniel, is up there. He was in the Army for a while. I don't post his last name, though I know it, because I'm unsure of admin rules regarding IRL information.
I am in Fairbanks. UAF is a good school...I know people currently going there. Just looking to see if anyone in the area would want to get together? apfvrf...let me know when you are back in the area if you want to meet for coffee sometime.

We left from Spokane to go see my son in Anchorage last week. We left the church when he was 12, and now at 28, he started attending another Christian church. Went to a Christmas show there, and it gave me the creeps, actually.
Never thought he'd do that, but his wife is dragging him along.
