I'd really love to hear people's thoughts on this. (more than just the simple "Not the Mormons!" rants)


If he was anything like how he is portrayed in the NT, I'd have a hard time imagining that he'd hang out with any zealots of any religion (modern-day Pharisees).

Rather, I imagine he'd want to surround himself with (besides the humble, meek, poor and such) open-minded truth seekers... people who are curious, imaginative... people who aren't afraid to ask questions, test hypotheses... people who explore, discover, reach higher... People who want to raise the bar for all of humanity...

I imagine he'd rather spend his time with scientists and philosophers than sitting in on some FHE or listening to a fireside...

I like to think he'd choose to chat it up with Neil DeGrasse Tyson over Thomas S. Monson any day of the week...

Yeah he'd probably hang out with a lot of the atheists and agnostics because they care about truth so much. Those are the kinds of people he'd dig cause they'd be all "I'm glad we were able to have it explained." not like religious people saying "HA! I told you so!"

The IRS.

Hookers, druggies, homeless people, the mentally ill. That would probably keep him busy most of the time

And golfers, don't forget golfers!!

I imagine orthodox Judaism would seem a lot more familiar to him than Christianity.

I think Jesus would hang with the poor and marginalized in society, including but not limited to drug addicts, the homeless,the disabled, prostitutes, immigrants, gays, etc. He would get all kinds of flack from the religious establishment for hanging out with "sinners".

He went to bars and hung out with those who need him the most.

I expect we would find him hanging out with Wall Street Republicans and legislators who passed the last bill increasing by tenfold the amount of money fatcats can donate to buy candidates.

And end the only real democracy the world has ever known.

He'd probably hang out with the types who would support him since his gig wasn't exactly a real jobby job.

I don't see him hanging with intellectuals.

I think he would have fit in as a flower child back in the 60s. Groovy, man.

Today he might hang out with the Dalai Lama. He might enjoy the Pope, but not at the Vatican. No one wants to be surrounded of pictures of themselves dying.

He might hang out at the pan handlers convention to learn a few new tips about getting people to give to the poor. He might like some new tips for duping people in the modern world.

He might hang out at soup kitchens and in places where homeless people need help.

Maybe he would hang out with Marvel Comic Book creators. Some of those other Super Heroes have better super powers than his.

Every group that the morg hates, women, gays or homosexuals, the African Americans etc.. and not hang out with the morg or politicians !

Maybe you missed the memo. His claim to fame is to have risen from the dead and with no known second death certificate he is still alive today and the inspiration for "Jesus Lives" bumper stickers. Mysteriously having acomplished that amazing feat he has chosen not to hang out with any one for some 2000 years.

I see him as the life of the party. Sitting on the couch, sipping another wine, dispensing wisdom, cracking jokes...yeah. Then he would probably stay after to help clean up. What a guy.
