gold plates

This may be common knowledge,however I just heard about it this morning,a very TBM friend posted an article on facebook,it is a picture of gold plates that have supposedly been found in NYS near to Cumorah,she was super excited about this and claims it proves there was indeed gold plates,also some professional has said that the inscriptions are the same as the book of mormon,possibly someone from BYU,just when I was getting up the courage to talk to her about why I left the church this appears,anyone know anything about it?
