Also, there is the factor of women willing to hook up with a man because he is powerful or rich. They get status and resources but I have to wonder how they have any self esteem. It's easier to understand the ones who were brainwashed.

Why do people hand over their daughter? I think they consider young women like livestock, which is an undercurrent still in many religions. They want favor with the religious leader and God. They gain status and there is probably some kind of quid pro quo for them. "That'll cost you two virgins!"

Well, in a nutshell, because women and girls are still considered property in many patriarchal communities and have little to no bodily autonomy.

I think it's a form of backwards evolution where a guy gives up his humanity and reverts to primate behavior. It's like he's back in the trees, living the primate male dominance hierarchy. He'll make it a point to bed and breed because that's who he is.

It's not limited to religion. Look at Washington DC.

I think there is a pathology in some men that they don't think they are scamming women and girls into sex--they actually twist it in their head that there is a religious element to it. Unfortunately, they don't get real satisfaction sexually or emotionally so they have to keep "doing it for God."
