Given our recent discussions on the topic, I thought the following may be of interest. It is a summary of when and where the earliest waves of modern humans went when they left Africa. It also shows where interbreeding with Neanderthals and Denisovans occurred.

The map is really cool.

The one obvious oversight in the research is the complete absence of reference to the Tower of Babel.

I just finished watching this, and as one who's tried to "keep up to speed" on this subject since 1970 (and things can change rapidly but beware of the "new cave folks on any continent"), I couldn't see where he'd missed anything. And I loved his dry sense of humor...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmiSJ6llu9Q

He discusses the "Multi-regional hypothesis" while pointing out the DNA evidence points to a recent Out-of-Africa Model, whether that's 60 thousand years (possibly 80, given new discoveries in Australia); I like also how he pokes fun of the pronunciation of "Neanderthal" and whether it should be "hominid" or "hominin." BTW, the spell-checker barfed on the second one...

You mean humans didn’t disperse from Independence, Missouri six thousand years ago?

How about this Bable—

Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.

Yup, Esteemed Boner, that is a bit problematic!

Thanks Lot's Wife... That should make it clear to all the

doubters.

Yes, my friend, it is pretty clear.

I imagine there's still lots to learn, but at least now I can stop looking for Babel.

When my brother received his B.A. in Asian (Altaic) languages at Berkeley he told my TBM father what he'd learned about the history of language. Dad listened for a while and remarked, "that's an interesting theory, but it's wrong. Languages come from the Tower of Babel."

It's like having all the oxygen sucked out of the room.
