So, now that Nelson is the sole owner of LDS Inc, does that make him a multi-billionaire?

It doesn't quite work that way. The LDS corp is a corporation and Nelson will be the CEO. There are shareholders and a selection process. Making Nelson the sole owner would bring about a heavy tax burden that is unnecessary. Think of it more as the ability to have the life you want while paying as little as you need to in taxes. Really, they have every need provided for them so why does the money even matter? If any of the apostles asks for anything save a hooker and an 8-ball it will be granted on the spot...even then I'm not so sure they would deny them a hooker...

I'm not so sure there is much of a difference between the lifestyle of the Prophet vs the lifestyle of the Apostles. Both have luxury housing, security, private chartered jets, vacation homes, and hordes of devoted minions. I suspect the Prophet can set his own hours, but even then it seems like the prophet is still expected to show up for various appearances.

praydude, there is only one shareholder. LDS corp. is a "corporation sole" -- one owner/shareholder. The one transfers from president to president.
And there's no tax burden -- it's a 501(c)(3) corporation. Tax exempt.

Nelson will be (if he isn't already) the sole shareholder/owner. Until he croaks. And the corp. will never pay a dime in taxes.
