DH came down with something a couple of days ago. He travels a lot for work, so I thought it was food poisoning (he vomited eight times, in addition to body aches).

Then, yesterday, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was absolutely flattened. It just came out of nowhere. Vomiting, body aches, a fever so high I thought about going to the ER.

We're both in our 30's, so it's terrifying to think of what this would do to our older relatives.

Please be careful!

Oh my golly. This has been a bad year per the CDC.

Scary business. Hope you feel better ASAP.

Did you or hubby get the flu shot this season? When you're young in your 30's you don't think about it much I guess unless you get it.

Feel better soon.

Thanks always for your sweet comments. You, Tevai, summer, spiritist, Kathleen and others (I know I'm forgetting at least a few) are posters I especially treasure.

It seems the board has entered a more temperate clime. It's nice to be back. :) Always more to learn and laugh about!

My adult child had the flu vaccine while home today.

Better late in the season than not at all, according to health officials.

Sounds like a norovirus (a.k.a. stomach flu.) I got it a couple of weeks ago. Yes, initial symptoms do mimic food poisoning, and onset is quick. In my case, symptoms persisted for a week, and my GI tract was not back to normal for even a few days after that.

I hope you and your DH feel better soon!

Thanks, summer. :) DH is better, but I'll probably be sick another few days.

I've been dodging the flu since started receiving the flu vaccinations in 2008.

Before that I'd get a bug nearly every season. It has cut down greatly on catching whatever's going around.

My mom (retired RN) has always been paranoid about the flu vaccine. Some weirdness from when it first came out. Thanks for letting me know you've had a good experience. As soon as I'm feeling better, I'll go get jabbed.
