My late BFF and I used to joke about being mistaken for lesbians. There was a tremendous degree of love and trust between us, partly because we knew each other since our pre-teen years, and each knew about the skeletons in the other's closet. Sexual attraction? No. But all the same, our friendship was one of the most important relationships in my life.

Our basic attitude about this was: What - you think we are lesbians? Well, we know that we are not. Take your suspicious little mind and go bother somebody else.
