Not that it matters, but that verse is referring to the Lamanites, not those of African descent. Therefore, it is technically”out of context” when applied to the supposed curse of Cain. Because of the use of the term “blackness”...it is somewhat confusing, but if you read the verse in context you realize it is the Lamanites that are being referred to. Not that it matters.....it’s still reflective of a racist doctrine.

Perhaps the black man should have quoted some of Mark Petersen’s speeches-perhaps even condoning this black man’s someday purchase of a Cadillac.
Yeah. I wish that guy could read those Mark E. quotes. That guy have real field day with the next set of missionaries he came across. I'd love to see a video of a missionary trying to say that ugliness was taken to of context. There's some juicy Brigham quotes as well the guy ought to have
The mormon church has always taken the position that brown skin is a curse from God, but not as bad of a curse as it could be. According to the church, they are Lamonites, a reveared race from the Book of Mormon, even if they are cursed as is evident from their brown skin. But to be completely black and not just brown, well that is the worst curse from God that is even possible. God didn't just give them slightly darker skin, the curse made them completely black, signifying the worst degree of curse possible that they could have. We all know that this is how mormons saw people with black skin until, perhaps some church members rethinking that just recently, after the church just recently denied their racist roots. The church needs to admit this and apologize to the world for allowing that thinking to flourish within their organization for several decades, primarily due to the teachings of Brigham Young and many so-called mormon prophets that followed him.

In what "context" would it seem appropriate to worship a God who cursed 2 entire races of his children with black skin so white people would know who to discriminate against?
Context doesn't matter in this case. The reference to Black Skin as being the result of Gods curse is all that matters. God cursed a white person to become black. This shows God IS a racist. That is the point. Sickening.
