Hey all, someone mentioned that there had been a change in the temple ordinance for women?

I did a search but can't find it. Can you give me a heads up?

Haven't been on here in ages so a bit out of the loop, but dead curious now with conference coming up and all the shizzle going on..

It's been mentioned that the temple film has been replaced with a slideshow, the character Eve has more dialogue and I think they stopped veiling women.

Wow. This, of course, is merely because God decided people were ready for changes, and not changes done by men in response to building pressure from members and media...

A week or so ago, I spent the evening listening to 3 versions of the temple show.

I have a 1984 copy which includes the penalties.

I have the post 1990 one.

I watched a YouTube video and somebody took the time to type it all out and add annotations to it as to what was deleted, what was changed.

They dumbed it down to a giggle.

I have no frame of reference to what would be on the screen in the most recent one, but I do know that Eve goes off the rails in a tangent.

Interesting!!

I'm from the time of gesturing my own disembowelment...

So funny who they keep changing things yet deny that they are changing at the same time.

Thank you for taking the time to respond guys.
I appreciate it

Basically they said that they didn't adjust any parts that were essential. They only adjusted parts that weren't essential.

Of course we were always taught that everything was essential before each adjustment. The deleted parts only became non-essential at that precise point in time when the decision was made to delete those parts.

See how it works? It's a finely tuned machine.

"We, the members of the Policy Board of the Department of Motor Vehicles have made adjustments to the driver's license test. Content related to the use of turn signals and content related to stops at 4-way intersections have been deleted. Be assured, however, that no essential content has been deleted. We would never delete essential content."

Of course, from an exmo point of view, it is true that the FP and Q12 have never deleted any essential content....because it's obvious that nothing done in the temple has ever been essential for anything.

Exactly!
I was taught/told that there was meaning in every little detail of the temple ceremony, and that it would take many, many trips to the temple for me to 'see' let alone understand most of them...

And now they've just deleted the non essential ones..

Mental gymnastics..

Women don't promise to covenant with husbands or veil their faces.

It is such a HUGE change that women are no longer 'under' the command of men.. HUGE!

This could really come back to bite them...

Women no longer need to wear a veil but they now wear the green apron on their head.
