I am reading more of the book "Evidence of early Mormon Counterfeiting 1800 to 1847" and pages 82 to 84 are blowing my mind. The entire narrative of the book of Mormon originated in Dartmouth College by a professor named John Smith who was directly related to Joseph Smith Senior. This John Smith was the best friend and trusted colleague of Dartmouth president John Wheelock who is the developer of much of the early Dartmouth curriculum. Professor John Smith theology lectures were prepared for publication when he died.

A Dartmouth alumnus summarized these lectures in 20 points. And all 20 points are exactly Mormon theology.

1. Greek philosophy provided his concept of the pre-existence.

2. Atonement covenant was made before the earth was created.

3. Plan of salvation was agreed to in the preexistence.

4. Father Son and sons of men were together in the preexistence.

5. Spiritual death was a man's condition after the Fall.

6. Sons church would exist in all ages after the Fall.

7. Types and shadows of the covenant found in the Scriptures.

8. Oats and covenants serve as Deity's legal structure.

9. Light, borrowed light and the light of reason would guide.

10. Melchizedek priesthood is coat eternal with God.

11. The Priesthood is the source of the Sons authority.

12. A Ronek priesthood promised to Aaron's descendants.

13. Free agency and the right to choose is it integral to the Plan.

14. Degrees of glory is the structure of the eternity's.

15. Consecration to Christ is required for the highest exaltation.

16. Revelation required to know ultimate nature of God.

17. Spirit is the simplest form of matter.

18. The prosperity cycle is the natural direction of history.

19. Millions of peopled worlds.

20. Father argues for justice and the Son argues for mercy.

Dartmouth's original mission was to be a training school for ministers who would evangelize the Indians namely a School of the Prophets. Later Joseph Smith Junior would institute a School of the Prophets in Kirtland Ohio.

Keep in mind that Hiram Smith attended Moor's Academy which was a prep school for Dartmouth. Hiram was joined by his cousin Steven Jr who was his mother Lucy's brother's son. They spent time in their youth's drinking from the same Felton as some of the most learned men of their day including Solomon Spalding, Reverend Ethan Smith, John Wheelock, and professor John Smith. They would've been exposed constantly to the ideas that these men held as well as the idea for a history of the native Americans. End it all originated in Vermont.

Every single thing we have ever been taught about Mormonism and the book of Mormon is absolutely false. We and our parents and their parents and their parents have been lied to and conned by the entire Smith family. Joseph Smith Senior and his family were all con artists .

As freeing and enlightning as it is to discover this information, my heart breaks for those of us who still have family ties who are still deeply immersed in the lies and the brainwashing and how difficult it makes those relationships.

Everything being taught out of Salt Lake City is a lie. And everything benefits the remaining Smith family and those that married into it.

on this issue and was she was excellent. I bought the book but have not read it yet so your post is "inspiring" me to read it now.

LDS = Counterfeiting - some things never change. Those were wild and crazy days back when the Smith family was running amok on the frontier.

Dartmouth is in Hanover, NH, not Vermont. (Yes, Hanover is on the Connecticut river which borders Vermont and New Hampshire, but it is on the NH side.)

In another Dartmouth-Mormon connection, it was doctors from Dartmouth medical school who performed the operation on Joseph Smith's leg when he was a child.

That’s a bigger bombshell than I’ve seen in a Miss Universe pageant.

Hiram had much bigger role in the creation of the Book of Mormon than I ever expected. But then, I was brought up on a steady diet of lies and obfuscation.

Exiled MORmON Apostle Burtrom Casey understood the huge significance of Hyrum Smith's role in the MORmON scheme of things. Burtrom gave Hyrum due acknowledgement when performing MORmON ordinances.

Very cool find, Lori.

It is a profound theology, without the cult's influence. Some of it is Christian in nature. The rest might be considered today "New Age" rather than Christian theology.

Interesting!

I suppose the Smith family decided that the one-prophet leadership was the way to go, or did JS just take the ball and run with it?

I'm envisioning the Joseph and Hyrum bookends my family used to have.

Looking forward to more tomorrow, Lori C.

Joseph and Hyrum we co-presidents of the church.

Mckonkie even has a paragraph on this in his "Mormon Doctrine"
