Since my original posted just closed:

I wanted to update everyone. I also stayed at a Renaissance (Marriott) the next 2 nights and YES they had a B of M in the nightstand. And I put the Mormon Think pass along cards in it.

*No porno on PPV at either hotel.
*Alcohol served at both places. Mucho alcohol!
*Friendly front desk staff. I had on my Queen + Adam Lambert shirt on and 2 employees said they loved the concert.
*Both hotels built in 1925 and historic landmarks.

That is all!

Regarding rich East Coast TBMs with gay kids, I read an account of SPs and bishops having discussions with SLC authorities about "solving" the prejudice issue. Turns out that TBMs not in the morridor have a tendency to love their kids maybe as much as they love the church. Heretics, huh?

So there is pressure from within, as well as from without.

Well, naturally. Those on the east coast don't have the fullness of the gospel. We're only taught the basic necessities.

I wish I was joking when I say I was actually told this by a Utahn.

To this day since our son came out nearly 20 years ago, he has

never heard an unkind word from his brothers and sister, neither

his father nor myself.

at that time the only crap he heard was from extended family

elsewhere. I even had an open house and invited people from

our ward and neighbors to meet him, his partner, my cousin's son

who is also gay and lo and behold, Over a 100 people showed

up. As far as we were concerned it was a total success. The

best part was that having those three helping me, I hardly

had to walk into the kitchen. All three of them had a fabulous

time. I believe strongly that when a child comes out is the

time to circle the wagons. The outside forces and some of

the inside forces are hideous. LOL I think the Mormons were so

stunned that we would do such a thing that they all showed up

just to see what was going to happen. They had a good time as

well.
