California and a lot of the Western USA is burning. Evacuations are happening and I know a number of churches are feeding people and setting up sleeping inside in various rooms.

Are ANY Mormon meeting houses taking part in helping feed and house these refugees from the fires?

Showers, bathrooms, kitchens and a lot of floor space - is it being used to help those who really need it?

There are 4 emergency shelters open along the Wasatch Front for people without power who either need a place to sleep, or have medical devices that they need an electricity source for. Two of the four shelters are LDS meetinghouses.

So it happens.

Not inside the 3 missions of ChurchCo.

Leaders can't think outside the box.

No cooking in the 'kitchens'.

No Sleeping in ChurchCo buildings, No Matter.

I wanted to invite the local Habitat group for a get-acquainted board meeting to our newly-completed chapel in Carnation, WA:

ARE YOU KIDDING?

Real charity going on in Mormon meeting houses is especially rare. When it happens, the cause is always one of two things.

1.) The church knows that they'll be getting a lot of media attention (the kind you can't buy) as a result, if they create the appearance that they are charitable.

Or

2.) The Bishop is a good man who is breaking the rules set by the church leaders in Salt Lake when it comes to how the meeting houses can be used, because it's the right thing to do.

Man - THE COVID!

That's why my black ass is going to the beach! (If I have to go.)

Yakima is struggling with Covid and now wildfires. Can you imagine going to a shelter there?

No, man. No.
