He's right, I made a decision at 3 years old not to get in deep enough. I never did any of the mormon coming to age rituals, like garments, mission, marriage. Even though I attended the mormon church every week for my parents. I did it for my parents.

I even would bring a change of clothing in the car to change into after church so when my neighbors saw me exiting my car on sundays, they would not see me in mormon attire.

Keep in mind this is texas and I was not even a teenager yet. I was that ashamed of mormonism that I didn't want the neighbors to know.

I was a good kid, never any behavior problems, I was just ashamed by my family's mormonsim. I didn't want the secret to get out

Not once when I handed the Bishop my tithing envelope did he say,
"You should keep that cash. You're not in far enough."

Some of us may have been too far in and saw behind the curtain.

Oh I was in far enough. But I think he really means that you weren't brainwashed enough.
