Just a thought. Don't say you researched church history. Tell them you did some fact checking.

Nah. Research implies deep diving and study. A goal, a project, a thesis. Which is how I'd characterize my relationship with the information I am engaging with.

"Research" often means "stuff I looked up on Google earlier" these days. ;)

I'd argue that is actually what "fact checking" means. It's what I thought of when weighing the suggestion of the OP.

How about, "Wow, there's a lot lying going on!"

I get it. Choosing the right words sometimes changes everything.

How about, "You are going to be shocked when you do your own fact-checking/researching! That's all I'm sayin'."

Make it a casual dare. Tempt them to prove you wrong cuz they can't stand to not know what you claim to have found out? Worth a try? I dunno.

Most would rather use the church as a white cane than open their eyes.

Posted the above in the wrong spot again. Geez. It's early.

What I wanted to post here was Ha Ha cuz that is the wisest way to say it--by far. A lot of lyin' going on. See for yourself.

They'd say, "check?, we'll take that." You no they would try to find a way to catch it.

Comedian JP Sears has a very funny video on Fact Checking video which he uploaded yesterday. Worth a watch:

That's just stupid, something that appeals to people who want to believe Fake News is real.

You've declared yourself.

I like the suggestion. Thanks. Normally I cringe when I see a topic headline that seems to be suggesting what one thinks other should do...but this one I like!

Hell no! Say you researched the history AND fact checked what they say the history is....
