I went to church with my grandmother in Utah, and there was a bat flying around the room. Hard to do anything besides watch the bat flying around the top of the room. :)

There are people who DON'T think bats are cuddly and our friends? Weird.

As well as eating bugs they also pollinate and spread seeds. The flying fox is reforesting AU after the fires. I know people who are care givers for them. My Dad said when he was a kid, he'd go out with a tennis racket and hold a lite match in front of the racket and the bats would come flying in and get fooled by the match.

I've never tried it to see if it really works.

I have 5 bat houses on my house. At least 3 get used. I am not sure with the others since the, errr, digested bugs (you know the term I'm thinking) is not readily visible.

Ah, memories.

We used to to spend the night in St. George, Utah, on our way to somewhere else, and there was nothing to do in that town except watch the bats at dusk. It was mesmerizing, silent, and time stood still.
