Liberalization? Lol They still oppose gay marriage, equal rights for women, they are against a woman’s right to choose what happens with HER health,, oppose gun regulations, cover up sexual abuse, normalize sex abuse by singing the praises of a serial sexual predator and still have the most racist verses in all of scripture, how ‘Liberal’ can they possibly pretend to be?
Maybe you could read the article. It explains how the Church will be forced into some degree of liberalisation in order to avoid a schism. Younger Mormons will increasingly distance themselves from the doctrinal positions of the Church itself, forcing it to adapt in order to survive, as all religions constantly do.
The church is two faced. It’s a bit more liberal in it’s public relations but inside the organization it’s business as it’s always been.
Maybe society will split up because it’s really polarized on some things. The church can just say it’s prophecy being fulfilled. The wheat from the chaff so to speak. Everyone seems to be migrating to places they seem to fit in better.
