I know some of them too. Like Francis Collins, Fauci’s Boss at NIH, who mapped the human genome. He is a Christian, former atheist/nihilist who converted to Christianity after college after reaching a point in his life where he needed hope and his atheism/ nihilism offered him nothing.
So he considered Christianity and it helped him gain some hope for humanity and then he mapped the human genome.
He fully accepts science, obviously, and has been able to reconcile his belief in God/Jesus, with his scientific world view.

I don’t agree with Collins, but his reasoning is impressive.
And I think he is a well respected scientist, one of the few elite scientists capable of reconciling his faith with his scientific mind.

I agree with Tyson, only I’d add that god (nature) does play dice with the universe, only the dice are loaded, in favor of matter, in lieu of anti-matter. In favor of life in lieu of chaos, in favor of no matter in lieu of nothing, and ironically, in favor of Lambda, the balance between dark matter and dark energy.
Otherwise the Lambda Cold Dark Matter cosmos wouldn’t exist.

Francis Collins was a Nihilist atheist, who converted to Christianity, out of a need for hope, which his previous world view failed to offer at his time of need.
