Your sentence structure, as I view it, leaves the matter up in the air...

Did you mean to write, "...but I CAN'T seem to reach her"

"I can seem to reach her..." is awkward, from my fanatically grammatical POV.

(This is rude of me and it could blow up in my face, but my awareness of this faux pas will hopefully work in my favor, should redemption, and maybe forgiveness, be available... Maybe the ghawd of mischief will intercede?)
