That's tragic. I hafta say, I do like the name Emma. Partly because I think Emma Smith was a rockin' feminist with firm thighs and perky breasts.

Emma Watson plays Hermione in Harry Potter.

Jimmer's real name is James. I think it's a cool version of Jimmy.

Why do they never name their kids Mormon?

...And I'm not referring to to the hispanic "hay-zooz" but the genunine article "gee-zuz"...

Legrand
Sterling
Spencer
Ezra

For awhile there Spencer and Dallin were big. I'm expecting to see some Jimmers in a few years.

I'd be willing to bet that there will definitely be a few Jimmers entering morg-area kindergartens in the fall of '17.

I think of Jane Austen and England!

I've never been Mormon and have lived in Britain... so perhaps that's why.

Years ago some guy in my Stake Presidency named his kid Zerubbabel. They called him "boo-boo". I'm sure by now he is calling his parents "idiots".

Adam Michael Hinckley Brown - the poor kid is named after one, or two gawd's?, and a PR hack.

And of course I can't forget a few of the truly awful female names I've heard...LaPriel, LaDonna, Delaine.

La Verkin is a funny one because it's a Utardization of "La Virgen" or The Virgin. Fitting, I guess.

A TBM I used to work with named his daughter Liberty. WTF?

There is a famous mormon family from Denver that was featured in the PBS Special, last name I think is Tilleman-Dick. They have kids named Charity Rainbow, Liberty Belle,Wisdom or Wizard, don't remember among otherrs. The father's name was Timber Dick, he was killed in an auto accident.

opps, some of the tilleman-dicks kids names are Charity Sunshine, Kimber Rainbow, Shilo Benson, Zenith Wisdom, Liberty Belle, Glorianna Willow, Tomicah, Levi Isreal. There is more, I think they have 11 or 12 kids.

But I know one family that gave their son the first name of Doogle.

There was also a kid named Nephi in the ward.

Are you sure it wasn't Dougal?

It's a Scottish name, perhaps Scots-Gaelic, but definitely not uncommon in Scotland and Ireland.

Elijah
Elisha
Cyrus

And Aiden. I think this is nationwide though, it seems like every boy under the age of 5 has the name Aiden. Used to like it and now it's so overused.

Alana

I was announcing a High School rodeo one afternoon and I had three girls on the roster with this particular name. All three from different parts of the State. All three of them pronounced their names differently and I had three mothers in my face all day long.

My favorite which I've seen spelled so many ways in rural Utah I can't even spell it correctly anymore.

Kaitlan, Caytlin, Cateline, AAAAHHHHHH

Moroni - a student in school whose family was inactive - he changed the pronunciation to 'Moronee' - poor kid!

Jaxon
Stone
VeNae - Although I like this name (and the person) it is very mormonish

A family in one ward we attended actually had a little boy named Jaxxon. I guess the "xtra" X made him "xtra" special!

Shantae for girls. I know a boy named Dallin Joseph. Fortunately everybody calls him D.J.

Is Laverkin a girls name or a boys?

Porter.

And the family I knew had the last name of Wells, and his middle name was gonna be....Rock.

Then they decided to leave out the "Rock" part.
