As reported earlier, Beloved spouse of 37 years has opted to call it a career. We'll be havin' a few of whatever strikes our fancy to celebrate.

Party on, mates!

My keyboard doesn't always connect well when I'm typing, so that's when my grammatical errors tend to show up. (Wireless keyboard.) And I wasn't even drinking! :D

I'm attending a wedding reception at a stake center for the daughter of a TBM friend. So I'll probably be drinking sprite mixed with sherbet ice cream. I think that's what they put in that drink.

Hello, Timothy and Mrs Timothy!

I have managed to get a vile chest infection so I am on steroids and Amoxicillin.

Today my wife -she finishes early on Fridays, as they start 30 minutes earlier Monday to Thursday- had fish and chips and mushy peas.

My wife had a pint of Guinness, I had a pint of Devil's Backbone IPA. It's brewed under licence in the UK and available on draught in Wetherspoon pubs.

This evening I am drinking a cheap store version of Spiced Rum sold by the Morrison's supermarket chain.

It's not as good as the Lamb's but it's good enough.

I am making toddies with the rum, PLJ lime juice and Manuka honey.

And yes, it is helping. ;o))

Tim, I'll drink another cup of Joe for you. I like it strong with a splash of half and half. Luckily for me coffee does not keep me awake during the night when I drink it late so I will more than likely drink several cups while I go to my ExMormon Meetup tonight. It will be good to get together with some other exmos and talk about old times.

Irn Bru. And a glass of tap water, which feels like luxury, having just returned from Blackpool where you can't drink the water just now due to contamination.

But that's what happens when you go abroad, isn't it?

It certainly is! Irn Bru. Now there's a real treat!

I Think the Scottish government should send gift packs of the stuff to America. Let those Coke and Pepsi drinkers get a taste of a real drink! ;o))

I'm going to see Jason Isbell here in Salt Lake, with my adult daughter and son, and my son's friend. The 2 guys love their beer so my daughter and I will probably have Diet Coke or Dr Pepper so we can be designated drivers at the end of show.

Excellent choice! Life is a "caberet" old chum.

Be sure to ask for Franzia, and have the waiter bring the box to the table so you can check the label.

And do not hesitate to send the box back to the refrigerator if the "caberet" is not to your standards.

In vino veritas.

What I would rather be doing is sipping a high quality cognac

So far:

"Polygamy Porter"

"Bristolecone" a brown ale

Later on I'll get into some fine scotch: Johnnie Walker Green Label a 15 year old, then a Glenfiddich 15 year, then maybe a Highland Park 12, or a Johnnie Walker Black Label 12.

Craft Beers and Scotch is where its at for me.

Wow UB40 That's pronounced as youbee forty, named for one of these unemployment cards http://www.7bridges.org/sites/default/files/images/portfolio_images/image-229_1.jpg

By the way, I was enjoying Christmas drinks and a meal with a bunch of colleagues in December. One of our group was the road manager of UB40 for many years before he decided to spend more time at home.

Very nice chap, too!

After a day of rain after two months of no rain, which is unheard of here in the PNW, my sweetie made me a nice hot buttered rum to enjoy as the rain poured down.
