Both shooters were over the age of 65. Is this a new pattern? Should I worry about you guys? I probably should not piss you off.

A couple of months ago I would have laughed at your post but lately we've run into a few acquaintances that have become "angry old men". Their complaints run almost lock step with common conspiracy theories but the level of anger is what alarmed me. Last night was my wife's former brother in law. Conversation started with hi, how are you doing from my wife to an absolute tirade from BIL. My experience is not enough data to form a conclusion but I wonder.

When I was a kid in Hong Kong every now and then the Chinese would go off over something. When they do it’s nasty. Using Chinese cleavers on each other is what would usually happen. The worst thing you can do in that culture is make someone lose face. Insult someone or embarrass someone bad enough pay back will come.

I'm kind of getting the impression
that people may think this one was
      well deserved!

They should issue permits, if your
request for the mass shooting permit
      meets a certain community standard.

Of course, each community will have
a different standard, which will make
      things internet-interesting; just do
not get all up close and personal.

It's almost as if California was trying to compete with Chicago or something.

I just want to say, or ask, which one?

There were at least 4 mass shootings in California between January 16th - 21st/22nd

California's recent string of mass shootings began on Jan. 16, when six people, including a teenage mother and her baby, were found fatally shot at a home in Goshen, a semi-rural area in the state's San Joaquin Valley.?

The man who shot people down on the dance floor...?
The man who shot other farmworkers... ?

Just hours after the Half Moon Bay shooting, seven people were shot, one fatally, in Oakland, California, in what police described as a "targeted" and possibly gang-related attack during the filming of a music video at a gas station.

Perhaps more recent ones? Yep, January 30th.

Three women, all out-of-state tourists, were killed and four people were injured in the second mass shooting to erupt in Los Angeles County in eight days -- the sixth in California this month, according to police.

CNN Headline: U.S. has had more mass shootings in 2023 than at this point in any year on record - dated January 23, 2023. It's been over a week since then.

California proposes new legislation today

The new rules proposed in the legislation are largely aimed at making it harder for guns to end up in the hands of dangerous or irresponsible people. If enacted, they would beef up the licensing protocols local officials must follow when issuing firearms permits, requiring them to conduct in-person interviews, gather character references and review applicants’ social media profiles.

There were 52 mass shootings in the U.S.A. in January, 2023
There are 52 weeks in a year. 11 months to go. California

Here in California, we outlawed the long magazines for semiauto rifles. The supreme court threw the new law out. What can we do?
