http://lemmonythings.com/2014/11/25/joseph-smiths-multiple-wives-and-why-i-dont-care-at-all/

A counselor in a YSA ward, who is the admin of the YSA group on FB as it stands, posted this crap last night, and lo and behold his remark was "Doubt your Doubts! Don't lose faith!"

I've hated this counselor for a while now and his apologetic crap still makes me wish I could rebut his claims on the YSA group but imagine what that would cause.

Your say?

Yadda yadda yadda. My husband beats me but he's really a good man down deep. I know he doesn't really mean it. And I love him. And I never dress my wounds because that reminds him that he beat me and I don't want him to feel bad. And also, don't want to tip off the neighbors.

Never underestimate the power of the Mormon blinders.

The worst is the painting of yet another white Jesus cool looking dude with a lamb that is clearly colored to represent all ethnicities. I used to raise sheep and though that mottled version may exists, I am up on a lot of sheep breeds actually, but haven't seen that particular calico wool before and wonder why it was chosen? I am tired of the church pretending it is interested in anything other than old white rich men and their self sacrificing wives.

^This is a very good comparison.

Yeah, he believes (without reason) that Joe was a prophet; so it doesn't matter that he lied repeatedly, screwed 14 year olds, screwed other mens' wives, etc. Because he believes he's a prophet.

Never once, apparently, did he stop to think that a "prophet" might be making all that "prophet" stuff up in order to sleep with 14 year olds and other mens' wives. 'Cause humans never, ever lie to get laid. Ever.

Sigh.

he doesn't care because his so called standards aren't nearly as high as he pretends they are.

I have always maintained that Joseph's dickishness and Brigham's doucheness have nothing to do with my departure from LDS inc. Joseph has faults coming out of every orifice of his body, but his faults are not the reason LDS inc is untrue. They are just additional evidences of the ridiculousness of the claims.

Mormonism is false independent of it's faults.

It looks like it is a woman who wrote this.

All this blogger proves with her drivel is that if Joseph Smith were alive today, he'd have no trouble adding a new wife to his collection. This woman would probably be the first to accept his proposal.

It also occurs to me that had these people been mixed up with Jim Jones they'd be part of the casualty list.

"Drink this kool-aid,* Sister. You need it to advance spiritually."

*Actually, it wasn't "Kool-Aid" brand, but some generic punch. But "Kool-Aid" is now the popular image for destructive, irrational belief.

As disgusting as it was--the polygamy part, I mean...
That's not what makes me the most furious.

It's that the church denied it and hid it for all those years.

What kind of great church is that?

If Joseph Smith was a prophet and we should be proud of that, shouldn't the church have stood up for him instead of denying what he evidently thought was God's will (or pretended to believe)?

This poor fellow felt the spirit. Oh, Wow! He'll probably be off to his next church in a few years with his wife who doesn't seem to be married in the temple. Maybe that's his sister.

^The worst for me was the blatant lies I was told in regard to finding out about the multiple wives. "It was only for eternity and not sexual" and "to take care of widows".

Yes, this bugs me too, that it wasn't sexual. Denver Snuffer teaches this too. To look at the facts and believe this is mental illness or willful ignorance.

I had a hard time trying to get through the comments which, especially when they tried to rebut the "anti-ish" comments and rationalize JS's activity, were washed down with gallons of Kool-Aid.

The blogger has another post about the new way TBM's can pay tithing on line. Based on the number of comments and heated debate among the TBM's, you'd think it was major doctrinal point whether you paid tithing online or just handed it to the bishop.

Not one person even questioned why they should pay tithing at all. Some of the rationales given for paying tithing are also pretty crazy.

But I do like the having the Internet and being able to read blogs from TBM's. It reminds of the insanity of it all without having to actually interact with them.

The blogger admits to being baptized "about three different times" in different churches. How do we know there won't be a third, fourth and fifth? Not all flakes are found in cereal boxes.

"It doesn't matter. All that matters is the witness I have of the Holy Ghost. All that matters is I have a testimony"

This is how bad and deeply entrenched the spiritual cancer is in Mormons.

Follow the comments to their natural conclusion. Explain; "I like polyandry. There are a lot of women in relief society that are married that I'd like to f*^& your sisters wife and mother being amongst them. In Warren Jeffs movements the husband must hold his wife's hand whilst she's being doinked. It wouldn't put me off at all to be banging your wife with you there." :)

I posted this but doubt it will survive modetators review.

Mormons really need to answer this simple question before fielding an army of 90,000 missionaries every day,
How do you reconcile singing the praises of a man who abused his power and authority to exploit his followers by raping ther wives and teenage daughters?
If he were alive today he’d be sharing a jail cell with Warren Jeffs, who REALLY followed Joseph’s example.
