A recent conversation brought up the apologist argument of tapirs being the animal that was referred to as "horses" in the Book of Mormon.

I believe the following image puts that concept into perspective:

Mormons don't need to read any anti Mormon stuff. If they just knew what the questions were and what the church was saying to try to defend itself, they'd leave in droves.

Ok, there is the problem of the big rack of horns, but if Ammon can chop off arms with his sword, surely they could saw the horns off domesticated elk so they could ride them without their eyes being poked out.

So the Nephites could have ridden cow elk, and kept the bulls for breeding purposes only.

Why doesn't it mention bison, deer, elk, coyote, cayman, cougars, parrots, bears (bear is mentioned 43 times, but not once is it referring to the animal), salmon, llama, guinea pigs, raven, crow, eagle, turkey, and the list goes on.

Why doesn't it mention tomatoes, squash, potatoes, peppers, chocolate. Corn is mentioned, but as seed. There is no indication of the long centuries during which Native American farmers turned a common prairie grass into what we recognize today as corn.

Wow........had to download that one. So what are cumoms then? They have to be something that went extinct and thus there is no English translation. That's what I learned in church dagnabbit!
