I'm going to start protesting socially harmful policies with my dollars.

I go to Dr. Jeff Adamson
3280 West 3500 South
West Valley City
801-968-6331

To be honest I don't know if he's LDS or not. I do know that he spends his Sundays skiing at Snowbird. I've been going to him for years, and religion never comes up. I think everyone in the office knows I'm gay, and no one has a problem with it.

ALL of the Adamson's that I have ever known in Utah are Mormons. When you call inquiring about an appt. , say " Is Dr. Adamson in the blah blah 6th ward ?
If they say they arn't sure which ward he's in ,he's probably a mormon.
Good luck.

I am looking for a non Mormon dentist in SLC area. Mormon think it because of the behavior. Its more of how they think. If your non mormon you don't count. Dentists using paper clips for root cannal posts. Not fitting a crown right so the tooth underneath will still Rot in your mouth making you to keep coming back for more and more work. BUT Mormons get A1 treatment, and I'm done with giving my money away for spotty work. Its like NAZI Germony and if your not mormon suck out your Gold and send you to the showers.
But thats why I'm looking for non mormon dentist.

Thanks! The worst is the Mormon dentist with all the little mormon girls working for him. And the creepy celestial mormon living room waiting room.

Haha. I had an openly gay (male) receptionist at my office. It worked great at keeping all those Mormons AWAY!

To add to this, can anyone suggest a non-mormon, transgender-friendly dentist in SLC or Ogden? I've been searching for one for almost a year now with no luck.

I'd call the local out reach programs. They usually have an idea of friendly doctors in the community.

I decided to get on PrEP and had absolutely no idea how to even begin thinking about it. I called the main community group (Lifelong AIDS Alliance) and asked the guy who answered the phone. A couple of phone calls later I was exactly where I wanted to be.

You could also call the Utah State Dental Association. Even if the can't reveal that type of personal information due to heppa (sp?) laws , you'll still be able to get a list of dentists & then you can call & inquire.

Levi, do you live in Utah? I'd like to get on PrEp. The Utah AIDS Foundation recommended a couple of doctors, but neither is accepting new patients. I emailed the clinic I go to about PrEP, and no one bothered to respond. I want to go to a doctor that's already familiar with it. I don't want to go to a doctor who's just going to Google PrEP and know less about it than I do.

No, I live in Seattle.

That's exactly the situation I was in.

My GP was just a normal GP. I didn't want to explain why I wanted to go on pretty strong meds when I was negative.

My new PrEP doctor is now my GP too. I love this place. Owned by a gay doctor, staff is all gay, super nice.

You're headed on the right track. My timetable was pretty darn lucky I think. Three phone calls and I had an appointment, but I'm in a larger city.

After you've exhausted the numbers they gave you, try calling any Infectious Disease specialist. You'll get it.

Dr. Kirkland Graham at the Dental Spa in Salt Lake City (6th East & 2100 South). General & cosmetic dentistry. He's fantastic and very much not a Mormon.

...see if you can learn to pull your own teeth. It takes some determination and ability, but I have pulled two of my own, to date. You have to wait until they become dislodged or broken free from the jaw and socket, which means the nerve is basically dead. Only gum tissue holds the tooth in place once it gets to that point. There is some minimal pain. Place a cotton ball in the socket after removal to assist clotting. Hopefully, the socket will not have any residue or fragments, which might hamper healing...........Happy Thanksgiving!!

Dentists. I've had a need for one of these recently, as my mouth is becoming a train-wreck! My teeth aren't lasting as long as the rest of me. My own son is a dentist, but alas, he's far away and in the air force. (They paid for his dental school.) Finding a dentist that can take care of one's particular needs is a bit tricky. In my case, I've learned that I need to seek one that likes geriatric restorative work. That's a specialty. Fixing kid's teeth is easy. Fixing mine is a bit more of a challenge!

And yes, I'd prefer a non-LDS one. That's easy. I live in Kentucky. Mormons are not really very visible around here. (Except for Steve Benson's brother. He's president of the local university in my town.)
