Every time our mall plans on getting a Victoria's Secret the damn Mormons protest
against it because the pictures they put up are so "evil" and then we are never able to get one! :( It makes me so mad I love that store. What I don't get is that there are pictures of girls in bikinis and in there underwhere at a lot of other stores and I never hear a stink about that. Also we have a Spencer's in our mall!!! Not that I would want Spencer's to get takin out its just its a little weird that they only protest against V.S. I mean Spencer's have way worse pictures in there and blow up you know what's!!! Yet all I hear is how "evil" V.S. is what the hell?!?! And if they don't like the evil pictures cant they just turn away and not look at them? Its like come on people GET A LIFE!

I dunno, but I hate VS because A) they don't carry bra sizes in my size, B) their things are Waaaaay overpriced, and C) Generally poor quality as well. I've had VS things disintegrate in the washer after only a couple wearings.

They are a joke when it comes to sizing bras. I pity the woman who leaves her church underwear behind only to be wrongly sized in ill fitting bras and panties!

The fascination in apparel, VS especially, is as much in the purchasing as it is in the wearing. People don't expect to keep wearing it three years later. One way or another--by change in fashion, personal whim, size changes, or product deterioration-- it intended, and expected, to be replaced in well under a year.

Three reasons they hate VS:

Those tiny undies look ridiculous over their garments.

Their husbands use the catalogs as "reading material" in the bathroom.

Their children see half naked mannequins in the display window in the mall and will be on the path to being immoral.

Don't know what you mean by quality. My wife loves their panties (for yard work, exercise, etc.) as well as nighties (sans the Emma's Sacred undies). Oh, and she loves the flannel PJs.

Thin material, elastic that goes all floppy quickly, pilling, seams that pull apart.

Some of the Pink line is okay/holds up a little.

I find better quality and variety at Target.

Agreed. VS is all about brilliant marketing, not quality or fit. I haven't bought anything from them in years.

Lol And yes Cheryl they REALLY do hate anything with V.S. name on it I let this Tbm girl smell some really good body spray I had from there once and she was like "mmm this is amazing" but as soon as she saw it was from V.S she gasped and was like "Victoria's Secret?!" "Isn't that a SIN?!!!!!!" I mean its freakin body spray for crying out loud!!!! I mean good grief!!!!!

A few years back I went to University Mall in Orem and was surprised to find a VS store in the heart of garmentdom. Is it still there?

When I saw it they had different window displays than the rest of the world ... Have to keep those boy's off the fake plastic women!

I also think one reason they hate Victoria's Secret is that the cult is in the underwear business, and they hate competition. As a result, they've convinced their members that it's an evil store that should be banned completely.

You can find a lovely bralette at Target for about $15.

I refuse to pay $20 or more to support these itty bitties. There's just no sense in that at all. Not when a tank top with a shelf bra provides plenty of support.

Maybe a VS would be more acceptable to MORmONS if it was repackaged and presented as Kimball's Secret.

Blah Vickie's ain't that great . My wife prefers Fredericks of Hollywood. She has some really items of pretty decent quality.

It's interesting how ideas float round in the LDS Church and change from time to time.

I can recall, back in the 60's that it was suggested, rather surreptitiously that it's OK to take your G's off for: ..err..ahh... those special moments! ..grin... and to my husband's delight. I bought some special outfits for those special moments!
Besides, I never could wear the garments at nigh, I actually took them off in my sleep so finally I stopped bothering with them at night! I had some lovely pajamas and gowns that were "modest" enough to wear in the morning while getting the family up and off to work and school.
