I'd be curious to hear of places everyone thinks that no TBM would ever set foot in.

I believe they would set foot in an adult bookstore, but only if they were out of town...

in Europe on my mission. We meaning the sister missionaries in our town. I've seen other Mormons at midnight mass for "cultural" reasons in CA and in Europe.

Definately Starbucks. mormon for 57 years and scared to death to go into a Starbucks. I have only been in 2 times in 6 months and I still feel weird. And I have no idea what to order. Also Christian Bookstores. We have them all around here (as opposed to 1 Deseret Book 25 min. away)but I would have died before I went on one. I now go in all the time and spend plenty of money. First book I bought there "The Kingdom of the Cults" by Walter Martin. Great book.

My TBM mother will go into a Starbucks once (maybe twice) a year when they have the Caramel Apple Cider.

I left the planet Kolob and have been ravaging the universe with Captain Kirk for several years now. They don't have Romulan Ale and green naked women on Kolob.

I've gotten my devout wife into midnight masses (it was Christmas!) and breweries. But she is unusual, and we grew up in a different generation. Getting my TBM parents into these places is a whole different story!

Some mormons will willing go to all of the "sinful" places mentioned so far ... but they will not go there if there are any other mormons nearby to report them.

What mormons really need is a scouting service that would check out places like Starbucks. If the coast is clear, in they go.

Business plan, anyone?

Wineries
Starbucks
Any casino
Las Vegas- I seriously heard one extreme TBM describe that city as a "sin hole" even though it does have a significant Mormon population.

For example my former TBM BIL went to strip clubs all the time and hired prostitutes even though sex was regularly available at home with his wife.

As the joke goes: if you invite a Mormon to go fishing, invite at least two or they'll drink all the beer.

Ironically, I haven't have sex with my TBM wife in over four years ever since I rejected the cult. Even though I still have an eager interest in sex I cannot bring myself to cheat and/or go to a strip club. Integrity got me out of the cult but it also keeps from cheating even though I have no belief in eternal justice meted out my an omnipotent creator.

You aren't cheating on your wife because you still love her and hope the day will come that she will see the light. I was fist to leave and my wife gave me the no nookie treatment for awhile. when she did come around to see things my way man, the sex was great! I hope your wive finally understands and comes around. My wife stayed in for family reasons. I think they figure we will give in for sex and come back to church. I often wonder if they are told to do so.

Anywhere near someone who has resigned
To a party given by a non-member who would never convert
To help out at a charity unless it's assigned
Shopping for a tank top or a bikini
Blue Boutique in Salt Lake City (unless you are young and in disguise - that goes for Starbucks too).
To any sort of gay rights demonstration
Trick or Treating on Sunday

Some places people have listed are places where my TBM mother would not hesitate to go. Mom loved to gamble, and she'd usually win. Any time the folks were going through Nevada, she made dad stop at a casino for a quick visit.

When they visited us in San Francisco, we took them to Finocchio's on Broadway, which is a famous nightclub show of female impersonators. (The only female in the show is the piano player). Mom thoroughly enjoyed it. After one of the jokes, however, she had to lean over and ask me, "Richard, what do they mean by 'lesbian'?"

It wasn't that she wasn't familiar with "queer" people - she had just never heard that term before.
